Good Charlotte/MTV Rant + My solution to save music

In my boredom this evening I watched part of a good charlotte concert on the wonderful station that is called MTV. It was hilarious. This band thinks they are punk and they think they are cool not only that but the show is called hard rock live. They are anything but hard rock or punk. They should get rid of their tattoos and put on glasses that are tapped right in the middle. These guys are still the nerds from high school that nobody talked to. They just use their tattoo and punk look to distract you from how lame they really are. Why is the crowd jumping up and down floating people through the crowd? They should instead be yelling things such as "A 12 year old girl could write better lyrics than you, you hacks". There is so many respectable bands out there can someone please explain to me how a band like this establishes any sort of credibility in the musical community. As you have read in my review I didn't hate their most recent CD but that doesn't mean there isn't thousands of CD's much better than it that no one has ever heard of. Hey MTV instead of broadcasting a commercial filled broadcast of a bad concert how about creating something good for music. The Real World was your last original idea and that has nothing to do with music. You should have a 3 hour long commercial free concert introducing the world to the bands of tomorrow and the bands of today that people have ignored. You can just have ad placements on the stage and throughout the broadcast instead of your regular 10 minute long commercial breaks. You can even have a few bands that people do know already just to generate interest in this concert broadcast. I know that you would never do this MTV. Do you know why I know that? It is because you would never have a program that you can only air once because you like to replay every show thousands of times. There is a solution to this problem though. You advertise that the concert will only be played in full once on television, then you can show an edited version for the rest of the year non-stop as you please. This would generate interest in the one performance and your ratings would sour. Not only would this jumpstart the careers of countless artists but it would get some of the crap like Good Charlotte off our radios and get some real music back on it. Do you know how much publicity this would generate it would be the Woodstock of television. Here is my tentative line-up for the Save MTV Tour

Armor For Sleep
Postal Service
New Amsterdams/Get up kids/Reggie and the full effect
Brand New
The Promise Ring
Dishwalla (they serve to be brought back to the mainstream)
The Early November
Pete Yorn
Yellowcard
Something Corporate
Ben Kweller
The Anniversary
Modest Mouse
Bright Eyes
Elliot
Further Seems Forever
Indigenous (it's always good to have a little blues thrown in)
Phantom Planet
Taking Back Sunday
The Weakerthans
And end with a grand finale collaboration between Sigur Ros and Radiohead.

Some of the filler bands you can have to generate interest I'd suggest
The White Stripes
Zwan
Audioslave
Jimmy Eat World
And Guster

If you are a fan of music you are most likely closing your eyes imagining the greatness of this and the impact it would have on music. Why wouldn't MTV do something like this!!??!? I'll tell you why because they are cowards and posers just like Good Charlotte. I just hope and pray that sometime in my lifetime a new station comes along that knocks MTV off its high horse and exposes it for the true pusillanimous station that it is.
